Privacy and cookie policy

Data we process

We process booking request form data, technical data needed to run and secure the site, and privacy preferences stored in your browser. Unless you turn statistics off, Google Analytics collects browsing data: pages visited, visit duration, referral source, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, random identifiers stored in cookies, and use of the booking form (dates, nights and number of guests, never name or email).

Purposes and lawful bases

We use data to answer booking requests, keep the site secure, remember privacy choices, and measure in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. The lawful bases are pre-contractual request, legitimate interest in security and in measuring site usage (which you can object to by turning statistics off), and consent for Google Maps.

External services

Google Analytics and Google Maps are provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin, Ireland. Google Analytics is active unless you turn it off; Google Maps loads only if you enable it. For Google Analytics, Google processes data on our behalf as a processor. Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies and local storage

The site stores your privacy choices in your browser (key borgoponte_privacy_preferences): this is technical data and needs no consent. Unless you turn statistics off, Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_GTVZV14BYJ cookies, which distinguish visitors and sessions and last up to 2 years. Google Maps, if enabled, may set its own Google cookies. You can change your choices at any time from Privacy preferences at the bottom of the page: if you turn statistics off, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.

Retention and rights

Booking requests are kept only as long as needed to manage the request and meet legal obligations. Google Analytics data linked to cookies is kept for 2 months. You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and consent withdrawal by writing to info.borgoponte@gmail.com. You may complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Privacy preferences

Statistics (Google Analytics): Helps us understand how the site is used through aggregated statistics. Google sets the _ga cookies and receives browsing and device data.
Google Maps: Allow the embedded map to load. Google may receive your IP address and browser data.
